about
Gallery Aras (Galerie und Verlag Aras, Germany) was founded in 1972 as a fine art gallery and publisher of original fine art prints. From the outset, the gallery was an important meeting place for exchange among diverse and renowned artists, writers and designers, including Max Bill, Enrico Castellani, Piero Dorazio, Eugène Ionesco, Paolo Minoli, Mimmo Rotella, and Antoni Tàpies. Specializing in post-war European and American art, the gallery has a tradition of museum-quality exhibitions and close, long-lasting friendships with the artists it represents. The gallery also has a substantial and important history of uniting great artists and writers through its publication of more than twenty portfolios of prints and bibliophile books including Gogol-Lanskoy, and Hommage a Santomaso, a collaboration by Jozé Ciuha, Raimund Girke, Andrej Jemec, Bruno Munari, Joe Tilson, and Günther Uecker, among others. Growing from its international presence at top artfairs including ArtBasel, Art Frankfurt, Art Cologne, and Kunstmesse Zurich, Gallery Aras is pleased to now offer an online gallery and marketplace for its international clientele. |
